About Santa Barbara Fish Market
Located at 117 Harbor Way, Santa Barbara, CA 93109, Santa Barbara Fish Market operates as a seafood market serving Santa Barbara in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Santa Barbara with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in California may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 am–7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (805) 965-9564. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, sbfish.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 478 reviews, which is a strong result for a seafood market in Santa Barbara and suggests consistent service.

The best uni in SB for cheaper than any of the restaurants and they serve it in the shell. Also the Spanish style anchovies are incredible and we loved all of the poke options we tried. If you have adventurous kids they will absolutely love this place. The smoked salmon was more jerky style which wasn’t my vibe but the great staff let me have a sample before I bought some. The staff is great and was amazing with my kids Poke isn’t photogenic but I’ll add some pics. The staff suggested we go to the nearby market to grab some chips and eat the poke that way. We ate at the picnic tables outside and it was a fun way to have lunch after walking around the harbour

Definitely the best uni I've found! It's very authentic, surrounded by fishers and fishmongers on all sides. Be aware that this is NOT their full restaurant—that's in Goleta! I was confused and a little disappointed when I arrived to find only a small selection of prepared foods. But alas, I enjoyed some local uni, oysters, poke, and ceviche, and they were all very tasty. They don't have any seating of their own, so plan to take it to a nearby table or relax on the beach with it. If you're looking for raw fish to cook at home, this is also your spot! Big selection and local and imported fish.

Located right on the harbor surrounded by plenty of other goodies and marina. You can pop in, sit on a table outside and enjoy the vibes.

Overall rating: 4.9 / Paid $31 Visiting from NYC Omg I was so nervous this place would be crowded based off everything I saw online. So I arrived super early and no one was there. Haha. After the bad spot I tried on the wharf, I was very eager to feel like I”m trying fresh Uni. I got the below and LOVED IT. - Scottish Salmon poke - Uni Will definitely be back & recommend to anyone visiting. I won’t be able to taste uni like that again on the east coast.

We heard from a trusted friend about their sea urchins (uni). This is the whole reason we visited Santa Barbara from LA today (12/30/25). I would gladly make a monthly trip just to eat the uni here again. It was INCREDIBLE. I know not everyone likes uni but for those that do, you have to try it freshly shucked. They’re still moving and they tasted so sweet; honestly, soy sauce, wasabi, etc. isn’t even necessary to enjoy such fresh uni (though it doesn’t hurt either!) Also the poke was so good, as was the seaweed salad. We are definitely going to be back.
